We are thrilled to announce that we are in the final stages of documentation in delivering the $30M Library and Learning Centre with Croxon Ramsay as part of the Baw Baw Culture and Connection Precinct for the Baw Baw Shire Council.
The council was inspired to deliver a 5 Green Star structure which led to a number of environmentally sustainable design initiatives being incorporated into the design strategy, the cornerstone of which was adopting a mass timber frame to form the superstructure of the building.
Working alongside leaders in the mass timber industry, Argall developed a structural solution for the mass timber frame which minimised the construction carbon footprint as well as maximising available points gained to assist with the design team’s wider Greenstar objectives.
Features of the new development include:
- Community library, including a children’s library
- Study Areas
- Gallery and cultural space
- Community meeting rooms
- Consulting rooms
- Co-working spaces
- Café
- Public terrace area.
- Public amenities such and parent’s room
- Changing Places facility
- Plaza and pedestrian connection to the West Gippsland Arts Centre.
