Argall

Welcome to Brunswick

Welcome to Brunswick is a friendly space designed for casual drinks in a backyard-like atmosphere, housing up to 450 patrons. Adhering strongly to the sustainable values at Argall the venue serves with fossil fuel-free pub facilities, while also boasting a comprehensive waste management strategy, including future plans for a bio-digestor. Reflecting the essence of Brunswick, the design incorporates recycled materials such as timber, bricks, and exposed scaffolding, adorned with art created by local muralists and street artists. The bar itself is a conversion of an old telecommunications depot.
Enclosing a large outdoor dining area construction of steel portal frame structure was required. Additions and alterations were made to the pre existing ex Telstra depot which now serves Brunswick as a brewery and bar, additionally there was construction of a new amenities structure and elevated deck on site.

The project involves re-establishing a stormwater drainage system on the site while maintaining the existing levels to meet drainage, planning, and environmental sustainability requirements. The stormwater solution is complex, involving the collection and pumping across the site for storage and treatment in elevated raingardens before being discharged. Additionally, the project requires working with the existing structure and adhering to its constraints. Specifically, the existing Telstra service building which was converted into a new brewery and bar, taking into account the limitations and specifications of the building to ensure a successful transformation.
