Argall are proud to announce that construction is complete on the $9m upgrade to Murrumbeena Park. The park is one of Glen Eira’s largest community spaces, with 2 sporting grounds, children’s play space, picnic facilities and a bowls club. The redevelopment of the community centre was focused on providing an integrated community hub with multi-purpose space to accommodate for a variety of uses.
A prominent engineering feature of the community centre is the active truss spanning 11m long and 5.5m high. This was formed using custom tensioned Ronstan tension ties to enable a flat truss with near zero deflection to meet the demands of the design.
The community hub is home to numerous facilities, including large capacity rooms for hire, lifts for accessibility, a changing places facility, social space, and sports club change rooms. We hope that this fantastic addition to the Glen Eira City Council can positively serve the growing community for the years to come.
