ARGALL Director Andrew Gall’s Technical Presentation at Guymer Bailey Architects

10 May 2024

We at ARGALL are thrilled to celebrate the recognition of our architectural partners who have been shortlisted in the prestigious 2024 Victorian Architecture Awards.

Last week marked an exciting milestone as ARGALL director Andrew Gall took center stage at Guymer Bailey Architects Pty Ltd’s Designer’s Morning Tea. It was an honor to share our expertise and insights on mass timber construction with such a distinguished audience.

The heart of the presentation revolved around ARGALL’s distinctive approach and design methodology for mass timber projects. We delved into the intricacies of our work, drawing from our extensive experience in this innovative construction method.

A significant highlight of the presentation was our in-depth exploration of the Baw Baw Culture and Connection Precinct’s first stage. This groundbreaking project features a remarkable $30 million, three-story mass timber-framed library. We were thrilled to share our learnings from this endeavor, particularly our collaboration with Australian Sustainable Hardwoods (ASH) to integrate cutting-edge technologies into the project.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mel Malik and Patrick Giles for extending this invaluable opportunity to us. Their support and encouragement have been instrumental in enabling us to showcase our passion and expertise in mass timber design.

As we continue to push the boundaries of innovation in architecture and construction, we look forward to more opportunities to share our knowledge and collaborate with industry leaders like Guymer Bailey Architects Pty Ltd. Together, we can drive forward the adoption of sustainable and forward-thinking design practices.

ANDREW GALL, Director

Argall was founded in 2017 by Andrew Gall, an engineer with a passion for complex design and breaking the mould. His work experience as a senior structural engineer across a variety of project disciplines made him realise there was a real need for a bespoke people and service-oriented structural engineering consultancy that would inspire sustainability practices and innovation often lacking in big companies.

This is over and above his experience in traditional procurement roles, his work with builders in the design and construct field, managing projects in sport, tertiary education, the arts and zoological fields, as well as community, commercial, residential and multi- residential enterprises. With such a wealth of knowledge and understanding of different design methodologies, he has the expertise to challenge the status quo in his new venture.
