Blind Creek
The design objective was to create a lightweight structure that harmoniously integrates with the surrounding natural landscape. The intention behind the design was to create a bridge that respects and complements the natural beauty of the surroundings, enabling the structure to become a visually appealing and unobtrusive element within the landscape.
Features including minimized structural depth and a bolted modular construction were successfully accomplished by utilizing prefabricated steel truss modules. These were connected through custom tensioned ties to address deflection and dynamic performance concerns. The truss modules were supported by steel columns on concrete bored piers and strip footings, providing a stable foundation for the structure.

In response to issues encountered during fabrication and construction, the installed structure was rectified on-site, with the team balancing rework and design to ensure optimal performance of the bridge. The focus was on finding a performance-oriented solution that addressed the identified challenges while maintaining the structural integrity and functionality of the bridge.
