Footscray’s famous events space, the Wool Store which was once one of Victoria’s largest wool factories is now a place of entertainment. Fitted with world class sound and lighting systems the warehouse now mimics the scene of a European warehouse rave. Argall was commissioned with providing a specialized structural frame to support lighting and cladding for one of director Andrew’s favorite artists, Jamie Jones.
The project involved the construction of a structural steel space frame designed to support lighting fixtures and translucent cladding. The specialized frame was constructed using modular units that were bolted together and lifted into position using hoisting equipment from the existing structure over.

The frame needed to be designed to fit within the mounting points and withstand the peak loading from the existing structure over. Special attention was also given to minimize the size and profile of the structure to avoid creating excessive shadows when the lighting cast onto the frame was activated.
